Dougal Allan - Adventure Racer and Winner of the 2021 New Zealand Coast to Coast
The Longest Day is the World Multisport Championship event held as part of the New Zealand Coast to Coast, and is also referred to as the "Longest Day'. It was this gruelling event that Dougal won in 2021.
Held every February, the race starts on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island, at Kumara Beach and traverses the width of the South Island, crossing the main divide and finishing on the East Coast with the finish at the Pier on New Brighton Beach in Christchurch - in total
243km of running, cycling and kayaking.
The race is one of the world's longest running multi-sports events and is older even than the Hawaiian Ironman.
